Small win! I did not spend money at the smelly store. I have a couple of free product rewards that expire next month so I keep toying with carts, but I don't need anything right now and nothing is catching my eye. I was very tempted for a new scent, but held back, because it would be more than my reward.

I don't want to waste my reward, because money is money. But I'm trying to convince myself to go into the store closer to the expiration date and not spend money shopping online.

I've also been wrestling with how to best support boycotts of stores. But there are some household items that are easiest to get at the Red Bullseye store or the Evil Big River store, and sometimes I need to weigh necessity vs morality.

"There's no ethical consumption under capitalism" means I try to do the best I can, but sometimes, I must give the giant corporations money to survive.

At any rate, when I buy from the Evil Big River store, I'm trying to use credit card points, so it somehow feels like I'm cheating the system and not paying them directly with my own money – it's just giant corporations exchanging numbers.
