One of my go-to clothing stores is having one of their big quarterly sales and I am tempted but I have not purchased anything.
Even with the discount, there isn't anything I really need or desperately want. I could use a refresh on some things now that I'm starting to actually cull what I have, but then I see some items and think, "Oh, that'd be nice" and then realize that I purchased it a couple of months ago and haven't worn it yet.
I have more clothes right now than I ever have had in my life and I still want more. I have more clothes than I have space for and I still want more. I have more clothes than I can remember because I routinely forget when I have already purchased it and I still want more.
This is why I'm trying to do this No Buy Year. I know it won't be perfect. But it gives me something to hold me accountable and retrain my no-spend muscles.
Which are desperately needed to be strong as I face the last month of being fully employed and look into the abyss of the unknown.
