Day 28: AmazoNO
Got the notification most everyone has received about them adding ads to Prime Video. Realized that while I have used Amazon maybe once a month the past year, we've hardly watched anything on the service (I can just get Acorn on my own if I really want it that badly).
I don't need 2-day shipping (or overnight shipping) so I don't mind waiting until I fill up a cart to reach a shipping threshold. If I need something that badly, I can just go to the bullseye store or make do with whatever I have. You know, like a normal person used to do before immediate shipping became a thing.
I do have a subscribe and save product that I can't get anywhere else cheaper, but I don't think it matters if I'm no longer a prime member? I hope not, at least. If worst comes to worse, I'll just end up paying a little more at the bullseye store. I'll survive. It was just nice and convenient because I didn't need to think about it.
But I'm willing to sacrifice convenience for my pride.
And an attempt to be a little more frugal. Not that there were tons of impulse buys on Amazon – I'm pleased that that's mostly reined in, largely due to me wanting to find alternate places to buy things when years ago we found out how awful Amazon really is. But sometimes that's just the easiest place to get the $random product$ that no one seems to carry.
Which is fine. I will still buy from there, when the occasion calls for it. Or until alternate sources can be found.
It's just weird to realize that I've been a Prime member for as long as I can remember there being a Prime option. And now I am not.
Yay, capitalism!
